Abstract

Summary: There is almost no country that does not face the consequences of climate change. Negative implications for human health, security, national security are some of the problems that most often burden developing countries. The participation of women in making important decisions, on the one hand, is undoubtedly a provocative topic, while on the other hand, there are more and more initiatives that strengthen and recognize the role of women in the decision-making process. Women are globally recognized as strong agents of change in the transition to sustainable solutions in energy, climate change and environmental protection. In order to use the potential of women, their skills and knowledge, as well as to encourage a new leadership model, it is important to include a gender perspective in policies, projects and development plans in the area of decision-making in the field of environmental protection. Respecting the opinions, distribution of work and power between women and men is crucial to understanding gender equality.
