Abstract: A lot of have been told about hate speech and hate crimes. Laws against them have been made, in order to protect citizens around the world from this menace. We have been communicating a lot about this phenomenon, which is not of recent date. Many books have been wtitten; many debates were conducted , that were not that fruitfull as they hoped to be.
Purpose of the work: The author would like to reflect the other part of those crimes- the origin of hatred that causes those crimes, its explanation ( a cognitive, rational one and also emotional one) and to consider possible ways to solve it or at least reduce it.
Methods used : psychological and axiological methods, along with comparative method and deep cognitive analysis.
Hypothesis & Findings: The author believes that if we try to understand hatred, its origin and development from the fear that it is not explained and diminished, then we will be able to stand against these types of crimes more effectively, and without repressive penal policy. The main hypothesis is that hatred comes out of fear, and that if we can reduce fear, we can reduce hate crimes as well. Also, if we can reduce and prevent spreading of false information and made people do fact-checking before believing into read/seen content, we will probably decrease fear that’s been spreding sometimes in those false informations and is, in our opinion one of the causes of hatred.
Originality/Value of the work: this approach to hate speech and hate crimes , as to our findings, has never been taken. The author combines her knowledge of law, ethics and psychotherapy as well in order to find the possible solutions for even if not sopping those crimes,but to reduce the level of this kind of violence. Works and empirrical researches solely on hatred are also rare, cause this is not pleasent topic to deal with.The author hopes that these findings and this paper would make modest contribution to understanding this topic, from legal, and psychological points of views.
